The New Place - Canadian Pride

Cue the beginning of the gushing posts:

Our new house is in possibly the most beautiful location we could ever hope for. Right downtown Peterborough, only a kilometre away from Riley's, on Little Lake. It's not too shabby to have a gorgeous lake outside your house every single minute of the day. To sweeten the pot, there is also a large porch on the front of the house. As noted before, it needs a little work, but it's still going to be an amazing spot to sit and watch people go by and the weather come over the lake.

One of the first things both Tim and I said, though, is that the dinky little Canadian flag out front had to go.

It's so tiny!! Just one of the little 6x9" ones on a tiny little plastic stick! We hadn't even finished unpacking the downstairs before Tim had started to assemble the new one.

Since there wasn't a pole on the house, only the holder, Tim cut down a nice broomstick to length, and then put a hooked finial on the end. The new, bigger Canadian flag was strung on that and then the whole thing went into the holder on the house.

The new flag looks MUCH better!! I still think we could go up one more flag size. Tim also wants to paint the broomstick black. We already have the spraypaint for another project, so maybe that will happen soon!
